How to apply for NEET counselling 2024 ?

  • Complete the MCC NEET registration process, including payment.
  • NEET 2023 counselling choice filling and locking.
  • Round 1 seat allotment and result announcement.
  • Reporting to the allotted Medical/Dental College (option for free entry / exit).
  • Round 2 net vacant seats are published.
  • NEET counselling round 2 registration (not necessary for already registered candidates) and fresh choice filling for NEET counselling round 2.
  • Round 2 of seat allocation (exit with forfeiture of security amount option available).
  • Reporting to medical /dental colleges / institutions in preparation for round 2 (candidates once joined the allotted seat are not allowed to vacate the seat).

Eligibility Criteria for NEET counselling 2024 :

Nationality Criteria :

Indian Nationals, NRIs, OCIs, PIOs, and Foreign Nationals are eligible to participate.

NEET UG Cut-off :

NEET 2024 cut-off determines eligibility for 85% State Quota and 15% All India Quota (AIQ) seats.

Candidates meeting or exceeding the NEET 2024 cut-off must register for counselling.

NEET Counselling Process 2024 :

NEET Counselling Registration :

  1. Eligible candidates register at mcc.nic.in for NEET UG 2024.
  2. Fill in personal details including NEET roll number, registration number, name, mother’s name, and date of birth.
  3. Pay counselling fee and security fee online using credit / debit card.

Choices Filling for NEET Counselling :

  1. Candidates create a preference list of colleges.

NEET UG Seat Allocation :

Applicants should immediately access their accounts and receive their seat allocation letters upon release. While a free exit choice is given in the initial round, a forfeiture exit is offered in the subsequent round.

NEET Counselling 2024 Options :

Free Exit (Only for Round 1) :
  • Candidates assigned a seat in round 1 who do not join or report to the allotted college.
  • Consequence : No penalty; the security deposit is not forfeited.
  • Eligibility : Candidates can still participate in subsequent rounds.
Exit with Forfeiture :
  • Candidates offered a seat in round 2 who decide not to accept the seat.
  • Consequence : Security deposit is forfeited.
  • Deadline : Must exit within the given period.
  • Restriction : Candidates joining the allotted seat in round 2 cannot resign or surrender their seat and are not allowed to participate in state counselling.

New Changes in NEET UG Counselling 2024 : 

  • Round 3 Participation : No resignations allowed; no further counselling participation after joining.
  • AIQ /Deemed /Central Universities : If allotted a seat, name removed from All India Stray Vacancy Round list.
  • OCI Cardholders : Same eligibility rights as Indian citizens.
  • Round 2 Registration : Fresh registration for unregistered or un-allotted candidates. Upgraded candidates must physically report and can choose to upgrade to Round 3.
  • Round 2 Seat Allotment : Non-reporting candidates forfeit their security deposit. No claim on Round 1 seat if upgraded.
  • Round 3 Registration : Required for unregistered/resigned candidates from previous rounds.
  • Round 2 Joining : Can upgrade to Round 3, but resigning forfeits the security deposit.
  • Round 3 Upgrade : Must relieve from Round 2 seat; no further upgrades or resignations allowed after joining.
  • Round 3 Non-Joining : Exit with fee forfeiture, no further participation.
  • Stray Round : Mandatory to join allotted seat; non-compliance results in a 1-year NEET UG exam ban and fee forfeiture.

Step-wise NEET AIQ / 15% Quota Counselling Process 2024 :
